Finally got this bad boy photographed. Swipe 👉🏽 to see a slightly cropped version of this long-ass #contemporarypainting !

Dangling the Carrots (Daucus carota), 2020
36" x 96"
#Acrylic on #canvas

Daucus carota, or wild carrot, has been used as an anti-fertility drug since antiquity. This piece weaves the #history and #iconography of this plant into a three panel #painting in orange. It evolves like a traditional #triptych, from left to right, with an Edenic scene (a fall forest), a canvas of earthly pleasures (a McMansion kitchen), and finally a hellscape (agent orange devastated Vietnam). by @rosebriccetti

These ornate frames are the only thing left to finish on this giant #painting. I don’t wanna deal with them, they aren’t fun, and there’s two of them 😭. I’ve been working around them like a little kid who won’t eat broccoli (which I totally was and apparently still am.) #playedmyself #cleanplateclub by @rosebriccetti

This painting is up at #USF in Tampa through the end of 2022. The exhibit, “Reproductive Justice is for Everyone,” celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Women’s and Gender Studies Department, and the first event is an open house this afternoon. by @rosebriccetti

Come see baby’s first tondo, this painting called “CumFullCircle.png” at @track16gallery in LA on 11/7. I’ll be there doing my best impression of a yassified Nathan Fielder (scroll for comparison👉). Seeing the movie tomorrow, DO NOT DM OR COMMENT ANY SPOILERS by @rosebriccetti

Time Flies Like an Arrow, Fruit Flies Like a Banana (Musa acuminata)
November 7 - December 19, 2026
Opening reception: Saturday, November 7th, 7:00-9:00 PM by @rosebriccetti

Sorry I haven’t replied to your message for months, I’ve been in the studio carving into fruit, letting the color develop like a photograph (did I just invent bananagraphy?), keeping my cat from eating said fruit (swipe), and then making this painting. Come see it & me in person in LA on Sat 11/7 at @track16gallery. More deets soon. by @rosebriccetti

I hate being photographed, desperately needed a new artist portrait. Wore 80s pants that were ALLEGEDLY part of wardrobe on Stranger Things and a vintage Cacharel shirt I found in France, both embroidered with roses 🌹 🥀. Swipe for outtakes, cat photo-bomb, and the tiny-footed friend who helped me wearing my GIANT sandals while I set the light. by @rosebriccetti

I’ve been working on this painting for so long that I’ve lost count and am thus truly unable to tally me bananas. Detail of a WIP U will B able 2 C IRL in LA ASAP, AKA 11/7. Stay tuned for show deets! 🍌🌴 by @rosebriccetti

Cape Cod (where my lobster was too buttery and my steak was too juicy) pic drop to populate this grid despite how much I resist posting for no particular reason (general insolence tbh). Did ye olde DNA residency and worked on some new banana-themed paintings for a show this fall (stay tuned and peep the Bananarama deet). 🍌🦞🏖️🎨 by @rosebriccetti

In 2025 I attended George W Bush’s Portraits of Courage painting exhibition at Epcot with Professor @rosebriccetti . We thought it would be a kitsch goofy romp.

We were wrong.

Instead we found we were emotionally, intellectually, & conceptually unable to process what we were seeing. As you probably know, I constantly write about who gets to make art and who doesn’t.

I could not understand this. My brain tried to parse it but couldn’t. It simply slid off. Absolute disorientation.

Is the world even more monstrously indifferent than I’d ever realized?
For the past year we’ve been working to make sense of what we witnessed.

Here’s the plan so far:

Thanks to @nicklawrencestudio for including this print in the show “Portrait of the Artist as an Endangered Species” which just closed at @readymadegallery. Nick's timely though timeless title was featured on an included @the_yam_mam piece 🔥🔥 by @rosebriccetti

in Dialogue with Rose Briccetti

Rose Briccetti’s interdisciplinary and intermedia practice combines deep historical, artistic, and scientific research with artmaking to re-present natural and cultural histories to question systems of power. Her work surrealistically weaves together strange truths, biology, museology, cultural myths, internet culture, and personal experience using humor and vivid visuals.
