@bostonschools celebrates our 2026 valedictorians!
Thirty-three exceptional seniors graduated at the top of their class. We’ll celebrate them each day over the next few weeks, highlighting a little about what makes them so special.
Ruth Batson Academy: Yail Acevedo
Yail has thrived academically, despite undertaking a heavy course-load that included four Advanced Placement courses and six dual-enrollment classes at UMass Boston. A Bloomberg Arts Institute internship he worked last summer has fueled his dreams of becoming an artist -- either on-paper or digitally. But first, he plans to attend Northeastern University on a full scholarship and major in mathematics, his favorite subject.
