I can’t tell you the first time I took photos of @danielgranttt. It might have been at a Wake the Line in Germany, but that’s beside the point. If you’d told me in 2015 that in 2025 I’d be taking pictures of Daniel riding behind a boat on Lake Powell, I’d have laughed hard. Not that I didn’t think Daniel could do it, but that it seemed so bizarre given our career paths. Fate has a funny way of bringing the unexpected to fruition though, and last summer I got to photograph Daniel sliding canyon walls on his park board, throwing down behind the boat on the iconic Trip shape, and having a blast on his wakeskate with the rest of the LF boat team — all at the lake the brand built its identity on over 20 years ago. Of course, Daniel is a legend in the wake park world, and more than holds his own. He’s inspired countless riders around the world with his innovation, determination, and versatility. We not only got to shoot boat riding on Lake Powell last summer, but we also got to shoot in his home park where he learned to ride and built his legendary career — @thai_wake_park and now @taowakepark. Here are some of the photos we got.
