Almost 43. Almost 15 pounds down. I never knew how much stress my body was going through until my test results came back👀
Some people ask me why I decided to walk away from being a full-time entrepreneur, and the answer will always be the same: "I had to put myself first this time." I was literally working and designing through pain with a smile, and no one really knew except my husband. I was great at masking it all and still showing up.
At first, I thought walking away from what I had known for so many years would be an easy transition, but it turned out to be one of the hardest adjustments of my life. It was in that moment that I realized I had built something from the ground up that was truly beautiful. I was not walking away from a failing business. I was walking away from creating smiles, seeing women feel confident in the mirror wearing my custom designs, and sharing in some of the most special moments of their lives. That was the tough part of it all.
God has a very good sense of humor, because this new chapter of career building was not anywhere near my goal list, lol, but God knows me better than I know myself. I will say that every skill I gained as a successful entrepreneur built me to conquer anything life puts in front of me. And I still get to dabble in the fashion world through media (@dayviiseven) IYKYK, and I occasionally design when my body is up to it.
I am honestly surprised I am sharing this, because I tend to mask everything and show up regardless. But somehow, I felt like someone, somewhere, needed to hear this.
