Amelia Earhart’s Hands
New piece, combining collage and gelli printing includes Amelia Earheart’s hands 🙌 and little pocketbook. There was a fascinating quote with the article about her from her husband. He explained how feminine she was despite the work she did. He said that her hands were so delicate. I imagine the young girl below as Amelia as a child dreaming of flight, having no idea of her effect on history or her fate.
The background was created by drawing the design on cardboard with tacky glue. When the glue dries, it can be used as a stamp into the wet layers of acrylic paint.
