Here’s a photograph of my new gelli print titled “Nightfall.” The image is 8” x 10” on 9” x 12” mixed media paper. Hope you enjoy it. It’s in honor of the beautiful full moon on display last night.

Amelia Earhart’s Hands

New piece, combining collage and gelli printing includes Amelia Earheart’s hands 🙌 and little pocketbook. There was a fascinating quote with the article about her from her husband. He explained how feminine she was despite the work she did. He said that her hands were so delicate. I imagine the young girl below as Amelia as a child dreaming of flight, having no idea of her effect on history or her fate.

The background was created by drawing the design on cardboard with tacky glue. When the glue dries, it can be used as a stamp into the wet layers of acrylic paint.

Gira como un girasol (Spin like a Sunflower)
8” x 10” Gelli print with Posca black acrylic marker

Pleased with the lesson in patience building this print layer by layer. Type came out backwards so with digital magic I flipped the image so that the type is legible. Process photos included from planning sketch on.

I didn’t post this version before (except as my cover photo on FB), with the three others because at first I thought it was too loud, too color saturated. Now I love it more than the other two in color. Here’s version 4 of

Bits of Beauty (version 4)

The signs of Spring are irrefutable now. I feel my heart lifting in some of the dark corners where Winter dug in. Relief is here! Breathe deep.

Analog collage with a gelli print image transfer

This is my first time sharing a collage and gelli printed piece. It deals with the way immigrants are being treated in the USA right now.
