Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet star as a couple who have erased each other from their memories; Winslet altered her acting style for the role.[2] The cast also includes Kirsten Dunst, Mark Ruffalo, Elijah Wood, and Tom Wilkinson. The film’s title is a quote from Alexander Pope’s 1717 poem *Eloisa to Abelard*. It incorporates elements of psychological drama, science fiction, and non-linear storytelling to explore the nature of memory and romantic love.
