Come n See presents ‘I (Don’t) Know!’
This is one of our most special events. It bends our usual concept a little - normally, you come for the theme, not the film. But this time, we’ve managed to get our hands on two special documentaries by director Penelope Spheeris, offering a rare and intimate portrait of queer life in 1970s Los Angeles.
Although you’ll know the titles in advance - we still encourage you to resist looking them up and simply trust the experience. These films have only ever been screened in the UK at Tate Modern (2015) and the London Short Film Festival (2020). Now, they’re coming to Come n See (2026). Special indeed.
The immersion, as always, continues beyond the screen with an accompanying art exhibition and music performance, guiding you through a layered exploration of how identity can be formed, expressed, questioned and reimagined through acts of self-authorship.
