All Sounds is a four-week workshop for experimental improvisation. It is open to participants of any skill and experience level, including absolute beginners. It runs every Saturday afternoon from August 15 to September 5, 2pm at Fremantle Small Projects behind Victoria Hall.

Improvised music is a kind of music where any sound is permissible, and all sounds made during an improvisation become part of the music. Openness to what arises, and sensitivity to how every sound influences the music, are key skills.

As well as being radically open, improvisation offers the chance to go very deep into what one is really about as a musician and listener. As the late Keith Tippett said to Tone List's founders in 2016: this is the easiest music and the hardest music to play.

Each week you'll meet with your fellow participants and explore different improvisation concepts and techniques with a local mentor.

The sessions this year will be mentored by @jostenmyburgh, E Millar (@mwrecs), @maryrapp_music and @untalpedroalvarez.

Limited spots available, already moving fast thanks to our newsletter subscribers buying up, so book soon! Pay-what-you-can. Link in bio.
