We love this breakdown and demo of stretch and rebound! Well done! 👏

Really great breakdown! I’ve been thinking about the balance between fabric construction and integrated elastic fibers, especially in high-stress areas like elbows and knees. I know it often comes down to the end use—like how a swimsuit might prioritize structural stability in the straps or crotch area over high-stretch. But I’m curious to hear how you approach that balance.

Question; so for example. I made a shirt out of jersey silk. Obviously to match the base, I used to same fabric for the collar. What are your recommendations to reduce bacon neck? Just keep it cut very short and tight in the neck? Since its just 100% silk i assume the bacon neck is inevitable?

You've explained the misconception, but how does spandex/Lycra prevent permanent rebound in Jersey knit? It's the same knit as in 100% cotton example, so the mechanical principle should still apply?

@joe.ng_ Joe, what fabric composition(s) do you recommend for underwear and socks? As I’ve learned about fabrics from you, I’ve been wondering. Thanks!

I have no fashion sense but you’ve turned me into a fabric snob.

I officially have a wish list for this brand starting with a winter hoodie, long sleeved tee, and perhaps a crewneck sweatshirt. @shiftfashiongroup @joe.ng_

Elastic has use for socks and neck bands, but cotton is king for the body of the garment

The hand feel is different. I know the elasticated thread makes it feel ‘nicer’ to some people but sometimes that thread makes me feel more sweaty in hot weather.

I realize Jersey knit inherently stretches but what about a 2 way stretch vs a 4 way stretch?

I didn't even think to check before I ordered after all this talk about the cotton quality and differences, if its 100% cotton. I should have done the reading.
