The Inception cum Planning Workshop on “Assessing Elephant Corridors, Habitat Utilization and Conflict Hotspots in the Bandhavgarh–Sanjay Landscape” was successfully held (17 July 2026) at Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve, Madhya Pradesh, marking the launch of a new National CAMPA-funded project. The workshop brought together senior officials from the Project Elephant Division, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC), the Madhya Pradesh Forest Department, and scientists from the Wildlife Institute of India (WII). The event was graced by Dr. Sameeta Rajora, IFS (PCCF & Chief Wildlife Warden). Discussions focused on elephant colonization, habitat connectivity, human–elephant conflict mitigation, and advances in monitoring technologies, laying the foundation for a science-based conservation roadmap to secure long-term coexistence and connectivity across the Bandhavgarh–Sanjay landscape.
