Reacting after Prime Minister Narendra Modi promised strict action against those responsible for harming the future of students, Salman wrote, “Please go back home,” while directly addressing hunger-striking activist Sonam Wangchuk. He added, “Sonam bro, eat something, I’ll send food,” suggesting that the government’s assurance had addressed the protesters’ central concern. The appeal marks a noticeable shift from Salman’s earlier statement, in which he described paper leaks as a serious issue and praised students for coming together to demand a better education system. He had called the protesters “courageous and brave” and said that the present generation would make India proud. Salman had also expressed sadness over the peaceful movement turning violent and extended support to students and their families who were injured.
