Oversharing didn’t feel like a song I wrote at all.

It was honestly a song that wrote me… leaving me completely naked afterwards. I could finally see myself for everything that I am and begin understanding what I carry.

I genuinely believe some songs find us before we find them, and I’m grateful God trusted me enough to be the vessel for this one.

If it finds you when you need it most, then it has already done everything it was meant to do.

$Commonwealth Championships ‘26 🇨🇦 Squat 172.5kg Bench 120kg 🥈 Deadlift 222.5kg 🥈 Total: 515kg 🥉 3rd @ 74kg bw Finally got round to acknowledging this competition haha. I’ve put off writing this recap, mainly because I’m still not sure how I feel about it. Despite coming away with three medals, I felt defeated after this performance. I’d set expectations, & when I didn’t meet them I felt I’d let down myself & the part of me that worked so hard to compete internationally again after a life changing injury. Being ill, losing weight & having my broken hand swell up on comp day wasn’t ideal, but when is comp day ever perfect eh. Last year I broke my hand pretty badly (displaced 5th metacarpal spiral fracture), & in so many ways my life hasn’t been the same since. What I thought was another injury to rehab, ended up affecting more than just my lifting. To say it’s been difficult is an understatement, & getting back onto an international platform took more out of me than expected. As athletes we set high expectations & put a lot of pressure on ourselves to perform. Looking back, I’d put so much pressure on myself to make the performance reflect all the work I’d put into getting there that I struggled to give myself credit for even being back lifting after everything I’ve overcome, let alone competing for my country. I’ll never take these experiences for granted, even when the result isn’t what I’d hoped for. You never know what’s next. To think 6 months ago I was still lifting in a brace & unable to bench properly! It’s so easy to compare myself to the athlete I was prior to injury rather than recognise how far I’ve come. I think I’ve spent so much time grieving the athlete I used to be that I’ve forgotten to appreciate the one who’s still showing up. This wasn’t the comeback I’d imagined, but it’s a step closer to becoming the athlete I know I am. Just one chapter of a bigger story. On a lighter note, the banquet was wicked, & in classic Sophia fashion, ripped some Pokémon, smashed out the karaoke one too many times, saw BMTH & completely lost my voice. :) Thank you to everyone who made this trip so special & for all the support along the way. 🥹❤️‍🔥$

On Halloween night around the marina, the witches don’t take to their brooms - they clamber into their kayaks and onto paddle boards!

The weather was perfect for this year’s witches’ paddle. We put on our hats and costumes, added some lights and decorations to our kayaks, brought some candy, and paddled underneath the restaurant and around the yacht club loop.

Definitely one of my favourite dock traditions!
