Hostages to the Heatwave

Seven Years, 2019 to 2026. This project was born from historic structural disaster, went through a pandemic, planning & political rollercoasters, so it only felt right that the final photoshoot happened during a record-shattering heatwave.

Kilian O’Sullivan (@kilianosullivan) and I looking appropriately melted but absolutely thrilled to put the final stamp on our longest-running project. Swipe for a couple of sneak-peek details of the finished architecture.

Politics often creates unusual alliances. When multiple opposition parties, activist groups, and critics focus their campaigns on a single political leader, supporters see it as proof of that leader's political significance rather than weakness. That is the message many Modi supporters believe recent events have reinforced.

To them, this is no longer about one protest or one political issue. They argue it reflects a broader effort by different political voices, each with its own agenda, converging on the same target. In their view, that shared focus has only strengthened Modi's political image instead of diminishing it.

Supporters point to Modi's repeated electoral victories and argue that despite sustained criticism and coordinated opposition, he continues to dominate India's political landscape. Critics, of course, see the situation differently and maintain that holding the government accountable is an essential part of democratic politics.

**In the end, every election is decided by voters, not slogans. But for many of Modi's supporters, one belief remains unchanged: when so many opponents unite against one leader, they see it as confirmation that he remains the central figure in Indian politics.
