I’ve officially lived on Maui for five years.
A statement I never planned to say. But also a statement I never necessarily planned not to say. When I picked up my life at 19, and the plane landed on a small island in the Pacific, it was anything but carefully planned… but it was me. Maui has seen and nurtured many versions of myself. While living here I’ve been a teenager and I’ve been an adult. Employed and unemployed. A student and a teacher. Single and someone’s lover. Low and high. Footloose and tied down.

Five years of adventures, growth, strength, and knowledge. I’m a better person for it all. And Maui has taken care of me. Here’s to all the past versions of myself, and the future ones. Wherever they find themselves. 👩🏻‍🦰
