Field panel conversions are hard enough, but add ALERTON into the mix, and it take about 2x longer. Hahaha taken in Kihei, Hawaii by @transmotion23

What do you do when you get called into work on a Saturday morning, and Momma is already at her job? She comes with me, of course! She’s officially 8 months today, and she’s already been in her first chiller plant. 😂❤️🤷‍♂️🌸❄️🧊 Happy 8 months Elysia! by @transmotion23

Little Elysia is finally feeling better!! Some of you know but not all, she’s been very sick for the last 5 days, and teething too! She was having trouble keeping any food down, and not sleeping more than 2 hours at a time. We took her in to the ER on Friday to find out she may have come down with a case of Nerovirus. They gave us some anti-nausea meds and gave us instructions on keeping her hydrated with Pedialyte. Amber has been giving her everything to this little human and I couldn’t be more grateful that she’s such an amazing momma bear. I help were I can, when I’m not working but, it’s been a hard week for everyone… She slept through the night last night, and today she’s been able to keep her foods down so things are looking up. Amber just put her to bed, and she looks peaceful again. Love yall! by @transmotion23

Got my panels re-stringed today! I had to bring down the voltage a bit for my new inverter, so we went from : 1P 8S x 3 strings To 2P 5S x 2 strings And 1P4S for string 3. This is best as the azimuths for string 3 is different then the other 20 panels. This also brings down my maximumDC voltage down from 520 to 340 but 2x the amps! 🔧 Re-string Day Complete — Why I Reconfigured My Solar Array Spent the day up on the roof reworking my panel strings, and figured I’d share why I made the change — because on paper everything “worked” before… but it wasn’t actually optimized for my new setup. ⚡ The Situation Originally, my panels were wired in 8-panel series strings (8S), which worked great with my old inverter. But with the new FlexBOSS21 hybrid inverter, the voltage profile is different — and that matters more than most people realize. 🚨 The Problem Those 8-panel strings were pushing: • ~458V operating (Vmp) • ~546V open circuit (Voc) That’s: • Too close to the inverter’s max voltage limits ⚠️ • Outside the ideal MPPT operating window • Risky in cold conditions (voltage rises even higher) 👉 In short: it worked… but not safely or efficiently for this inverter. 🔄 The Fix I reconfigured everything to: • 5 panels in series (5S) • 2 strings in parallel (5S2P) per MPPT Now each main array sits around: • ~286V operating • ~340V open circuit 👉 Right in the inverter’s sweet spot 🧠 Why It Matters This change: • Keeps voltage well within safe limits • Lets the inverter operate at full efficiency • Reduces stress on components • Sets me up for future expansion 🚌 Bonus I’ve also got a small 4-panel string running on its own MPPT… Let’s just say it’s currently known as: 👉 “The Struggle Bus Array” (temporary name… future plans to upgrade it 😄) 🏁 Takeaway Solar isn’t just about how many panels you have — it’s about how you configure them for the equipment you’re using. Same hardware, different wiring = completely different performance. Also learned: • A 9-iron makes a surprisingly effective wire fishing tool ⛳⚡ #Solar #DIYsolar #RenewableEnergy #OffGrid #EnergyIndependence SolarInstall Engineering by @transmotion23
