Flight Over the Ghats.

The Story & Composition:
This frame was born out of exploring the ghats of Varanasi, trying to capture the joyful, uncomplicated rhythm of everyday life during a beautiful evening by the river. The composition utilizes a wide-angle perspective to frame the sweeping, diagonal architecture of the stone steps, freezing a young boy mid-dive at the absolute apex of his leap over the water. But beyond the high-speed kinetic energy of the children playing, the true narrative heart of the image sits quietly on the upper steps. Look closely, and you see Hindu and Muslim residents sitting side-by-side, sharing the same space and spending their evening in complete harmony at one of the world’s most deeply religious sites. It turns a dynamic action shot into a deeper story about community, peace, and the shared humanity that grounds the living history of the river.
