At our 2026 Make Equality Reality Gala, we honoured the late Virginia Roberts Giuffre with Equality Now’s Courage Award, recognising her extraordinary determination to challenge powerful institutions, demand accountability and create a path for other survivors to be heard.⁣ ⁣ Presenting the award, Mariska Hargitay reflected on the enormous burden placed on survivors who speak out, and our collective responsibility to ensure their courage leads to meaningful change.⁣ ⁣ Virginia’s brother and sister-in-law, Sky and Amanda Roberts, accepted the award on her behalf, sharing personal reflections on her life, her legacy and her unwavering commitment to justice.⁣ ⁣ Through their continued work with SOAR (Speak Out, Act, Reclaim), they are carrying forward Virginia’s vision of a world where survivors are heard, supported and able to seek justice, regardless of who holds power.⁣ ⁣ As Sky reminded us, Virginia had two words for anyone who told her something wasn't possible: “Watch me.”⁣ ⁣ Her courage helped change the world. Now it is our collective responsibility to ensure her legacy leads to lasting justice and accountability.⁣ ⁣ #MakeEqualityReality #ChooseCourage #EndSexualViolence

Afgelopen week is mijn lieve oma overleden. Dementie is levend rouwen. ☀️🤍🕊️
The love story between Robby Krieger, the iconic guitarist of The Doors, and his wife Lynn began in 1967, when they met at the famous Ondine nightclub in New York. The couple married on Christmas Day 1972, beginning a romantic relationship that would become one of the longest-lasting, strongest, and most admired in the entire Rock History. Throughout more than five decades of marriage, Lynn remained an unwavering partner and a cornerstone in the musician’s life, standing by him through the band’s turbulent periods and his subsequent solo projects. Their relationship was always distinguished by a unique bond that remained free from the chaos and excesses typical of the entertainment industry. Tragically, Lynn passed away at the age of 79, leaving a profound void in the guitarist’s circle and in the music community. Her passing marks the end of a moving chapter of mutual devotion, commemorating the legacy of an unwavering love that successfully withstood the test of time and the trials of stardom.
