Among stones that have witnessed more than 5,000 years of history, we remembered our friend Mitch, who helped uncover it. Today we walked the ancient paths of Mochlos, Crete—one of the largest Early Minoan settlements.
For us, this place is more than an archaeological site. It became a second home to Mitch and Ginny over the last eight years. Walking through Mitch’s trench—the project he poured his heart into—was both humbling and deeply emotional.
Now, with some of his ashes resting among the stones and sea he loved, Mochlos has become part of his story, too. In a place where ancestors are honored, his memory lives on—in every trench, every discovery, and every wave that meets these ancient shores.
His passion is forever woven into this remarkable landscape and the discoveries that will continue long after us.
