We are often asked about reverse gear on our sidecar outfits. There isn’t one.
We always teach people to watch the track as you ride, identify possible turning points along the way whilst assessing the terrain and how far you should continue on the go.
As with a solo motorbike you find a slight incline to ride up, and then slowly and safely roll back down to a point where you can turn. The odd push with a foot can help, but mostly gravity is our friend.
It’s a really good idea to practice before heading out into the wilds, with fallen trees and other unpredictable obstacles.. Give it a go.
