One of the most common excuses I hear, especially at the higher levels. “I can’t hit slower pitching.”
Yes, you can. And it’s up to YOU to adjust. If I’m the other team and I know this, I’m just going to feed you a steady diet of offspeed stuff. Make the adjustment and crush slow pitching so that you’re dangerous in the box no matter who’s on the mound!

What gets rewarded in that spot is a plan that holds up when the speed changes. A hitter who knows what he is looking for can stay with his count, and the excuse loses its power once the game plan travels pitch to pitch.
