This weekend I had the opportunity to attend the Black Christian Influencers Conference thanks to @aajacorinne , jackietheeducator, and @truthstablefoundation , and I left with so much more than I expected.

One of the biggest things that stood out to me wasn’t the number of followers people had, it was their character. Every influencer I met was welcoming, kind, and intentional. It challenged me to show up, no matter the room with kindness. If anything, it also showed me that good character is what grants you access to rooms you never imagined being in.

One moment that will stay with me was hearing Pastor John Hannah’s testimony of how he gained influence. Hearing how his consistency, OBEDIENCE, and patience led him into God’s promise reminded me that it’s, “THE SAME GOD”. (Iykyk)

A message that kept being repeated all weekend was: Know who you are before the influence comes, so the influence doesn’t change you.

That hit me deeply because I don’t want influence to shape my identity. I want my identity in Christ to shape how I carry influence. I want to remain who God has called me to be, no matter what platform He entrusts me with.

I’m leaving this weekend inspired to stay consistent, to keep creating, and to trust God’s timing.
