Kona 🥺 not how I envisioned my day unfolding. I put myself in great position off the bike, but from KM 1 of the run it was a real battle to get one foot in front of the other. Maybe over-biked or under-fueled, mistakes you cannot make in conditions like this. Battled a million demons for 42km and thought there was absolutely no way that I could finish. Maybe someday I’ll be proud of getting to the finsih line but for now I’m just sad and embarrassed. I just want to say a huge thank you to the other women on course for their encouragement as they passed me. I’ve never felt so much like “we’re in this tougher”, everyone going through their own mental battles. Also to the amazing volunteers who brought me back to life a bit at every station. And of course @eric_lagerstrom ❤️ it was possibly a much worse day for him watching me get through that. Thank you all for the love, as of now I’m never doing that again, but you never know 🙂.

#Atlanta-based digital marketing agency #GetEngaged is being acquired by global marketing company #SAMY in a deal valued at more than $100 million. The companies described the transaction as a low nine-figure deal involving cash, equity and additional resources for growth.

Get Engaged was founded in Atlanta in 2016 by Alex Dermer, Ben Hiott and Cam Fordham. The agency has worked with brands including DoorDash, Atlanta United and Raising Cane’s and has helped create viral campaigns involving celebrities such as Post Malone and Alix Earle. It currently employs about 120 people, including 70 in Atlanta.

Under the deal, Get Engaged will keep its name, leadership team and Atlanta headquarters while becoming SAMY’s U.S. arm. The founders said they are focused on expanding the team rather than cutting jobs.

Madrid-based SAMY operates in more than 55 markets and has over 1,000 employees. Get Engaged says the partnership will give it greater access to global markets, technology, data and production resources while helping SAMY strengthen its presence in the United States.
