4 months agoWhat do you think about a scene professionally filmed? My acting school puts on showcases twice a year, where we perform a scene from film or tv with a scene partner. These scenes are studied and prepared and performed in front of casting directors, producers, agents, and managers. Each scene is about 2 minutes.
4 months agoThis was such a great episode! I have had so much fun filming my own footage and it has been a game changer. I highly recommend @melissablueward @bluelitstudios @rockyourreel. Melissa and her team are so incredible. 🔥❤️🥰
4 months agoI have a meaty reel w/ heavy procedural crime drama content. But I have nothing for rom com/family friendly content. So I shot a scene from a rom com and that’s what I use to submit on those types of projects. A high quality clip of me playing a cop or bleeding out in a horror movie is not a fit for a family friendly hallmark Christmas movie lol. I agree use the self tapes as placeholders until you book and get the footage to replace it.
4 months agoI wouldn't have gotten a chance to audition for the shorts I ended up booking without at least having some self-tape style or scene study clips on my profiles for them to reference. We all have to start somewhere. It's fair enough that someone casting for HBO or Netflix won't want to see that, but I'm not aiming for that until I can prove I have more experience which I get through indie projects anyway! It's part of the process. We all evolve 😎
