This picture reminds us that joy isn’t something you wait for when life gets easier. Sometimes it’s a choice you make right where God has you.

Looking back, it’s fitting that this was the passage Lindsey read on Austin’s birthday years earlier. It came at a time when God was preparing our hearts for a journey we never saw coming.

I loved that day. The whole family celebrating Austin’s birthday. Truly a gift God gave to all of us. I look back at many of those days, and realize just how blessed we were.
