Came to
@studiolagreechicago over 9 years ago because one of my best and fittest friends told me I had to try it. Shout out to you
@nazsaidi 😘 I did find an amazing, constantly challenging, never boring workout. I stayed because there’s so much more to the practice.
Lagree requires focus and presence. All the unnecessary thoughts, worries, or concerns I have are pushed aside. I struggle and persevere every class. A modified move completed is absolutely perseverance. It feels good to be committed to being a student of the method, and it feels good to know the discipline it requires to consistently show up over 9 years. The community of instructors and clients is incredible. I take Lagree every trip I can too. So many instructors have helped shape me and my practice and that is a gift that gives back. Whether teaching or taking, I’m inspired. Finally, less is more. I’ve been saying my summer motto is, “How few can you do?” Fewer reps, slower, smaller movements, time under tension, it’s hard but at the same time- it’s freeing. As someone who was always asked to do more, and wanted to do more, it’s almost a relief to be asked to “do less.” (In quotes because slow tempo adds intensity.)

Sending gratitude out into the universe today, or at least the Instagram world, to everyone whose path I’ve crossed along the way. I hope if Lagree isn’t your workout of choice, you find a movement you love to do. I’m biased though and think this one is pretty amazing.
