Chef Wong is a casual Yum Cha spot in Melbourne founded by Doris and Chung. The husband and wife duo stared Chef Wong as a hobby for Doris's dad, a retired Yum Cha Master who dedicated 50 years of his life to the craft.

Everything is made by hand, using traditional methods that Chef Wong had learnt in Hong Kong during the 60s and 70s. Their mission is to pass down Chef Wong's legacy and to preserve the flavours of the past.

What's unique about Chef Wong is that customers can order the dim sums by individual pieces. Doris and Chung wanted to make Yum Cha a casual event and allow customers to taste a variety of flavours even if they dine alone. They also sell their handmade dim sums as frozen packs so customers can have high quality Yum Cha at home.

When you dine in Chef Wong, you can feel the warmth of a family run business and the care that they put into making the food. Doris and Chung are very hands-on, from kitchen to front of house, they are involved in all aspects of operations. Ultimately, they want to give customers the best experience and quality when they visit Chef Wong.
