What a beautiful day!
This week we collaborated with @twst4girlshtx to help open a computer lab and “The Care Cabinet” at Wire Girls School in Oyugis, Kenya. It was one of the most beautiful, humbling days of this trip. While we were there, @sayyes2manners hosted an etiquette workshop for the girls and their pen pals, teaching them how to network and navigate dining etiquette.
Being there taught me so much. The girls wake up at 3:30am everyday, and class runs from 4:30am to 7:00pm, with just two breaks, at 10am and 4pm. 😳 Two scoops of water is all each girl gets to clean herself every morning. And ninety girls share one single dorm room.
I watched our girls take all of this in, and I think they’re realizing, in real time, just how different their everyday lives are from the lives of the girls they met here.
