FREYA!! 🔥⚔️ The Norse goddess of love and war, associated with beauty, gold, and… the proud owner of two giant blue cats and a giant boar. She is so epic, isn’t she?

While reading about her, I noticed she has two sides. One is her magical side: she owns the famous necklace Brísingamen and is said to have taught the art of seiðr to Odin. The other is her warrior side. The Valkyries answer to her, and half of the warriors who die in battle are welcomed into her realm, Fólkvangr.

For this illustration, I wanted to portray her as a warrior. Halfway through, though, I remembered the story where Thor had to dress up as Freya to trick a giant… and it actually worked! So now I’m wondering: maybe Thor was less muscular than we usually imagine… or maybe Freya simply had amazing arms. I mean, if she could carry two giant cats, she’d have to be pretty strong, hehe.

I hope you like the illustration!

And, do you think Thor was less muscular than we usually imagine him or Freya simply had amazing arms?
