There are SO many reasons behind these preventable deaths.
There are SO many things we as a country could, and should, be doing better.
Charles, Gabby, our partners, the village … we fight constantly to educate and advocate for stronger legislation and BETTER care for moms.
We fight because Kira should be here. None of these events should even matter. The interviews, the moments. We’d trade it all for a safer birthing rate. For Kira. For every mom and baby we’ve lost.
We should be celebrating the births, the babies, the mothers, and the strongest maternal care in the world. But we aren’t.
So, until we see 84% of preventable deaths no longer reported, we will continue to fight.

I read these notes when they were leaked years ago he kept asking about the blood in the catheter the nurse call repeatedly the doctor didn’t come until much later when you look at the time you can tell he came after office hours how many of us have seen the Doctors do this 🙋🏽♀️ she progressively got worse and what really bother me this woman was a healthy athlete I’m sure they Never told her that a VBAC would be better for her they likely played up her 0.9% chance of UR instead of her 5% chance of hemorrhage or that the risk of maternal death is high in repeat C-section than VBAC they love to hide that. So I am extremely proud of how he never let his wife’s memory die. So proud of him I never met his wife’s memory but the bio of her is amazing she spoke several Languages and flew planes she was a top notch sister !
