Zashiki warashi are spirits from Japanese folklore. They are believed to be the souls of children who died a tragic death, but remained in the world of the living to bring happiness to others.
Have you ever had something you left in a certain place just disappear or end up somewhere else? Have you heard footsteps, laughter or other playful noises?
If so, it might be the work of this spirit, simply playing around.
They are harmless and playful spirits, most often appearing as small girls in red kimono.
However, if a Zashiki warashi is offended, misfortune may fall upon the household.
I decided to draw this spirit in the form of Ichirei doll, which symbolizes the death of a child. In essence, these spirits are exactly the children who have passed away.
