Idk he cannot use the stone to get his body but he chose to use it in the fight.Logically he wasted the stone by doing feats a normal alchemy can do with the circle.

This is another moment where I think the Sub falls flat from a narrative angle. In the Dub pride doesn't say anything at the end after the flash bang. But in this sub he says "nothing less to be expected from the power of a philosophers stone, one transmutation after another" which makes literally no sense, why would he say that as if the audience has 0 idea what's going on. This is in like the last 5 episodes of the entire show. This would be like the villain saying "classic guns, what else would I expect. Just one shot after another" it's just stupid dialogue, no one would ever say

I love that fight because it feels like "Hey dear viewer. Do you remember we stated some times before Alphonse is a better fighter than Edward?".
