🇺🇸 17th Annual Timmy Rice Softball Game 🥎

Today, members of the Hackensack Fire Department and the Hackensack Police Department continued one of our cities greatest traditions as we took the field for the 17th Annual Timmy Rice Softball Game.

We were honored to have Mayor Gaines throw out the ceremonial first pitch on the brand-new Turf Field #10, helping kick off another outstanding day of friendly competition and camaraderie.

While the firefighters came away with a 13-7 victory in seven innings, the final score is never what this day is truly about. This annual tradition represents the incredible relationship between our firefighters and police officers—a bond built on mutual respect, teamwork, and professionalism. Whether we’re standing side by side on emergency scenes or sharing a laugh on the softball field, we are united by our commitment to serving the City of Hackensack.

This year’s game was especially meaningful as we celebrated America’s 250th birthday, recognizing the freedoms we enjoy and the privilege of serving our community together. It was a fitting way to honor our nation’s history while continuing a tradition that brings our public safety family and community together year after year.

Thank you to everyone who came out to support this great event. We look forward to continuing this tradition for many years to come.
Congratulations to both teams on another outstanding game—and we’ll see everyone next year!

Happy 250th Birthday, America! 🇺🇸
