Growing up as the daughter of immigrants, I was constantly reminded that living here is an opportunity, not something to take for granted. My parents taught me to be proud to be from this country and the freedom I get to enjoy is not just to be celebrated one day a year. It's about having the chance to build something bigger than yourself.

The greatest way I can honor my parents' sacrifices is by refusing to waste my potential. Every long day, every early morning, every risk I've taken with my business is because I know opportunities like this don't exist everywhere.

So while we enjoyed the fireworks, the walk, and time together, I also took a moment to be grateful. Not just for the holiday, but for the chance to create a life my family dreamed about.
