Yet somehow it's the one we're expected to recover from the fastest. Nobody congratulates you because your life finally feels... stable. But maybe stability should be α milestone too.'.

Brew 50 ☕️ for the first time in almost three years, i get to ask a new question. not ‘how do I survive.’ not ‘how do I keep everything from falling apart.’ not ‘how do I ensure our safety.’ but: who do i want to become now? and that question feels like a privilege, one so many mothers have to earn.

a few weeks ago i looked around and realized the court cases were really over. my son is happy and healthy. work isn’t just stable but it’s growing. for the first time in almost two years, my life didn’t feel like it was one bad day away from falling apart. and that is a massive milestone in motherhood.

if you’re in the stabilization phase of motherhood right now remember that just because nobody is applauding doesn’t mean you’re not accomplishing something extraordinary. and i promise you motherhood is so much more bearable on the other side of survival mode. stability is a milestone all in itself. and if it makes you feel better, mine took 22+ months.

“Maybe yours was postpartum depression, AND a traumatic birth, AND financial stress AND waking up one day and not recognising the life you’re living” 3 years on and I still have a visceral reaction and a WTF just happened feeling. What. In the actual. Fuck.

Well said, now im finding myself centering my life around family snd work. It used to be just work before having a family. Regretted the loss of time. Seems like it’s starting all over again! But I’m gonna try not to make the same mistake twice. I’m in my 30s now😕Did it the first time in my early 20s
