I grew up eating empanadas, so when I heard that Tiny Kitchen Empanadas @tinykitchennaples had finally opened their brick and mortar location on Park Street, just off Fifth Avenue South, after years of operating from a trolley and the Third Street Farmers Market as CDL Empanadas, I couldn’t wait to visit.
Unfortunately, I missed the pre opening celebrations, but I made sure to stop by yesterday.
The incredibly charismatic Alejo welcomed me, and I got to enjoy some of the best Argentine empanadas I’ve had in town. They’re made with imported ingredients from Italy and Spain, along with locally sourced products like mushrooms from Care to Grow. You can truly taste the love and quality in every bite.
Alejo was born in Mexico to Argentine parents and also has German roots, so he jokingly calls himself a mutt. We quickly realized we have so much in common, including the fact that we both spent many years in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, where his parents still own a restaurant.
He and his wife, Sam, have created such a fun, welcoming place where people come together over empanadas, an ice cold Coca Cola or Jarritos, and great conversation.
I thought I’d be there for about 30 minutes. Instead, I stayed almost two hours. I met two wonderful members of our community, reconnected with familiar faces, and was reminded why I love discovering places like this.
Tiny Kitchen is exactly the kind of locally owned business that continues putting Naples on the map as an incredible culinary destination.
My prediction? They won’t be called Tiny Kitchen forever because I have a feeling this place is going to grow in a very big way.
Alejo, or Alex as many know him, promised that next time we’ll make a choripán together. There just wasn’t enough time during my solo visit, so I’ll definitely be bringing my gang of friends back.
When you go, introduce yourself to Alex and Sam. Put your phone away for a little while, strike up a conversation with someone, and who knows… you might leave with a new friend.
And before you go, don’t forget to pick a vinyl record to play. It makes the experience even more special. 🎶❤️

I dont understand the design of the restaurant, its like too much noise visually, its small place but there is too many thing put together that doesn’t make sense, wish they have less stuff around and more simple and modern space, but the food is great, i love their empanadas!

Alejandro is absolutely the best. I pray more people like him open more small businesses in town and thrive. No one deserves it more ❤️
