The family of 24-year-old #DavidAddoWright demands answers after he was found dead inside DeKalb County Jail, saying he died just 48 hours after being booked. According to the family, he had posted bond and was expected to be released shortly afterward. However, his father says Georgia Bureau of Investigation agents came to the family’s home Thursday morning to tell them Wright had been killed inside the jail. ______________________________
According to the family’s attorney, #MawuliDavis, David was arrested last week following a fight that led to a struggle over a gun that accidentally discharged. David’s father recalled their final conversation with him, saying, “Dad, I messed up. I got into a fight. I was arrested.”

The family’s attorney claims six men entered David’s cell and attacked him. It was also alleged that the locks on Wright’s cell were broken and that jail staff failed to conduct routine checks. “It is our understanding that it is in excess of 45 minutes, approaching an hour, after the attack and before anyone came to render aid. This should not have happened,” attorney Davis said. David’s family also said they received calls from people believed to be gang members inside the jail, demanding money in an attempt to extort the family over David. The family demands answers and expects a thorough investigation.📸:@aisha.akosua ✍🏾:#TSRStaffJR #TSRStaffTC
