‘MANTIS’ (2026) Costume Making Journey🧵🪡

Much gratitude to have contributed to the process of breathing life into ‘MANTIS’ through clothes alongside @english_samurai 🤲🏽.

‘MANTIS’ is another original dance production by BABA YAYA Dance Company that is based on the Xhoi-San trickster deity known as Mantis. This incredible work explores themes of creation, mortality, power, prayer and enduring spirit of humanity, and draws inspiration from San mythology.
