Jane and Jesse almost had a way out of Breaking Bad. One account of the show’s development says the writers considered having them go to rehab together, then leave Albuquerque with Jesse’s money. It would have kept Jane in the series longer and given Jesse a chance at stability much earlier. The version that aired takes them right to the edge of that future. Jane gets Walt to hand over the money, and she and Jesse talk about getting clean and starting over in New Zealand. That night, they use h*roin again. Walt finds Jane choking and lets her d*e. Jesse goes to rehab alone, believing her d*ath was his fault. Carrying a loss that follows him through the rest of the series.

Delhi Police has released a video showing CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke being offered assistance to contact his family and travel home after he was informed of his grandmother’s death. The video was released after Dipke alleged that police had denied him access to his phone and prevented him from speaking to his parents during his detention. According to the police’s version, officers informed Dipke about his grandmother’s death and offered to help him contact his family and make arrangements to return home. The video appears intended to counter allegations that he was not allowed to communicate with his relatives. Dipke, however, has disputed the police’s account. He alleged that he was not given his phone to retrieve his cousin’s contact number and was not allowed to speak to his lawyer. His allegations raised questions about how he was treated while in police custody following the detention of CJP members and supporters amid protests in Delhi. Delhi Police Deputy Commissioner Neha Yadav said officers offered to arrange travel by flight, train or bus so Dipke could attend the last rites. The police also maintained that he was offered an opportunity to speak to his father but declined at that time. Dipke later challenged the footage, asking why it did not show his requests to use his phone to retrieve his cousin’s number and speak to his lawyers. He also questioned why police had asked him to contact his father at around 3:30 am. The dispute has now centred on competing accounts of the events in custody. While Delhi Police says it informed Dipke about his grandmother’s death and offered assistance, Dipke maintains that his requests for phone and legal access were denied. The released video and the allegations made in response have intensified the public dispute over his treatment during detention.
