My childhood game ☺️ I didn’t understand both the japanese and english lyrics back then but i could sing them perfectly.
While lots of shoujo manga and princess cartoons back then tells you to be cute and wait for prince charming, Rhapsody told you to take the initiative, take risk, and go save your prince charming in distress. It was released in 1998 mind you.
In the idle title song ‘Someday’, Cornet our MC sang about how she “🛀 did everything a girl supposed to, take a bubble bath, looking beautiful.. wait patiently!” which got lectured by her puppet Kururu basically “🧚♀️silly girl, what’s important is what inside of you! Be courageous, be true to your heart, if it makes you happy then you’re on a good start! Don’t freakin wait, take the initiative!”
Altho like i said, I didn’t understand the lyrics. I don’t even fully understand the text, so i didn’t embody that “take initiative!” part (cute shoujo mangas shaped me instead lol). But i did understand the friendship, helping others, the depth of mother’s love, and the adventurous process and not giving up getting to your goal.
But now that i replayed the game, fully understand the context and lyrics, the values it was teaching that i missed.. I actually became even more amazed that ✨THIS✨ is my childhood game.
