An 18-year-old detention deputy in San Antonio, Texas, has been fired after photos showing her posing with jail inmates went viral on social media.

Karla Beltran had been employed by the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office for just over 100 days after starting on July 1. The photos show Beltran in uniform making various hand gestures and posing for pictures while inmates behind a glass window joined in.

According to reports, Beltran was terminated during her probationary period. Officials are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the photos, including who took them and how they ended up online. No criminal charges have been reported.

Do y’all think she deserved to lose her job over the photos?

Introducing a special digital cover from our October shoot with Teresa Palmer, sharing the spotlight with her youngest daughter. Inside our October issue, the actor opens up about life with her growing family, her Hollywood ambitions and the juggle behind it all. “I’m in the season of little children. I drop balls all the time,” she says. From raising her family in Byron Bay to navigating imposter syndrome on set, Palmer is refreshingly honest about motherhood, ambition and craving a slower pace while still dreaming big.

It’s your last chance to grab marie claire’s October issue, on sale now. Read the full interview at the link in bio.

They can comment on your laugh, your joy, your presence… but they don’t get to take it from you.

VP Kamala Harris opens up to Keke about the pressure of being constantly scrutinized and how she’s learned to protect the parts of herself that make her who she is.

From the way she laughs to the joy she carries with her, she talks about refusing to let other people’s projections change how she shows up.
