🚀 Tesla has finally revealed the next-generation Roadster, and its headline feature is something almost no production car has ever attempted: it can actually leave the ground.

Tesla’s new halo car combines SpaceX-developed cold-gas thrusters with high-powered fans and suction technology, allowing the prototype to climb an inverted ramp, rotate through the air and land back on the pavement.

During the reveal, Tesla also demonstrated the Roadster lifting itself over several of the company’s vehicles while moving.

Acceleration is equally ridiculous, with the demonstrated car reportedly hitting 0–60 mph in just 0.81 seconds and Tesla claiming a top speed above 230 mph.

The redesigned two-seater also features steer-by-wire, an active retractable rear wing and aerospace-inspired propulsion hardware that makes the Roadster feel more like an engineering experiment than a traditional EV supercar.

After being originally revealed back in 2017 and delayed repeatedly, Tesla is currently targeting production around 2028, although the final road-legal specification could differ from the prototype shown.
