This was one of those places I thought it was "new" but it turns out it has been open since 2023...
If you’re a sushi lover in Houston, Katami is a must-try! 🇯🇵🍣 What really sets it apart is the quality of the fish, with premium seafood imported directly from Japan, bringing incredible freshness, delicate textures, and authentic Japanese flavors to the table. Every bite feels thoughtfully crafted, making this a standout destination for anyone who appreciates exceptional sushi and Japanese cuisine.

Another new bagel shop in Houston… seems like we have a bagel trend going on!
This one comes all the way from New York 🇺🇸. The dough is kettle-boiled using NYC water, then baked fresh on-site in Houston throughout the day.
They have several bagel options, but I went with the Nova Salmon with the Works on an everything bagel. 🔥 They also have a variety of breakfast bagels if you’re looking for something more classic.
If you’re a bagel fan, this one is definitely worth a try. 🥯

Dessert options are extremely good here too!

We went for two. We did not try their most popular one "erizo del mar". We left that for another day!

Galleta de macadamia: cant go wrong with anything chocolate!
Crisp macadamia-chocolate streusel cookie, black sesame ice cream, cacao tuile, java pepper cream, passion fruit gel, macadamia nuts

Milhojas: good but did not have the wow factor; that said, the frozen apple parfait was very good.
Flaky "thousand-layer" pastry, frozen apple parfait, coconut, candied apples, apple reduction, pink pepper corn, yuzu gel

Ok... I am back.... I have been MIA from posting (not from eating)... I have a lot of material so will start posting again. Thanks for those sticking around.

This place is legit... as everything that chef Hugos does this is another top solid restaurant.

We liked everything.

Aguachile Negro - Lime-cured shrimp, cucumber, avocado, serrano, soy, Worcestershire, Maggi.

Trucha salmonera - Cured red trout, sambal, pickled capers, green olives, lemon, olive oil, lemon aioli, chives, toast

Cazuela de mariscos - Mussels, clams, mole amarillo, white wine, canario peppers. Ask for a spoon because you will want to drink that broth!

Duck Taco - solid... 3 - 4 bites but does the job.

Octopus zarandeado... solid and worth it! Top pulpo choice

Lamb : charred-over-coals braised lamb shank, black beans, green peas, furikake, flour tortillas. Not a fan of the black beans but I accept it was good.

Vegetables and rice : think of paella...Artichokes, mushrooms, Brussels sprouts, poblano, hoja santa, carrot, fennel, cilantro, thyme, ancho-morita aioli

Totally recommended.

Valet parking on the side... 11 buck... otherwise 40 bucks on neraby parking.

So, looking for a place to have dinner Saturday night I found this gem on Resy....
Saw the menu and the online food post and I was sold... omg I am glad I tried this place....Creative Vietnamese food full of flavor

The ribeye with papaya salad was a standout; tender, flavorful, and perfectly balanced with the freshness of the papaya salad.

The bone marrow was rich and indulgent, if your cholesterol is low go for it.... it is topped with brisket fat!!!! It is a must...

The brisket pho delivered deep, comforting flavors in every spoonful. Dont sleep on the spicy sauce...

The fried garlic shrimp packed a ton of flavor but what I liked the most was that it was super crispy and perfectly fried.... anothe must...,

The beef carpaccio was fresh, vibrant, with ton of citrus touches. A must try too.

The grilled oysters were good but compared to the others dishes not as a strong competitor.

I got to try a Vietnamese beer which was a first time for me.

Great food, great atmosphere, and a menu that keeps you coming back for more. Definitely one of Houston’s must-visit spots.

Homemade!

Watching someone calmly put together a Memorial Day cookout like this is honestly impressive 🇺🇸🔥
Creamy mac and cheese with brisket coming out perfect, chili hot dogs loaded up, and a fresh watermelon feta salad on the side like it was effortless.
No chaos. No huge mess in the kitchen.
Just smooth cooking, relaxed vibes, refreshing mojitos and everything somehow ready at the perfect time.
That’s the kind of holiday hosting everyone appreciates ❤️🤍💙

Happy memorial day! In honor of those who made the ultimate sacrifice to make this the best country in the world.

Been here several times already and tried the entire menu... everything is good.
There is fresh pita made throughout the day, flavorful shawarma, crisp veggies, and sauces that bring everything together perfectly. My favorite are the falafels...the brisket and chicken are good but dont stand as much as the crispy falafels. All the add ons are delicious. Casual spot with quality ingredients and surprisingly polished flavors. The fries were addictive too. Don't sleep on the tahini chocolate chip cookies! Those cookies can compete with the best chocolate chips cookies in Houston!

Made my way over to this spot that’s stacked with awards—and it absolutely delivers.
The meatball sandwich ($18) was the standout. Loaded (seriously, they don’t hold back), rich tomato sauce with a subtle spicy kick, and finished with plenty of melted cheese. Messy in the best way and 100% worth it.
The roast beef sandwich ($17) was massive and packed with flavor. It leans slightly sweet thanks to the honey mustard, which isn’t usually my go-to, but it still works. And just look at it… beautiful sandwich.
You’re definitely leaving full—but somehow I still made room for the chocolate chip cookie, and I’m glad I did. Top notch. Don’t skip it.
Already planning a return for the pastrami and more desserts. Bonus: cool Star Wars memorabilia inside for fans.

Sorry, I have been busy and have not caught up posting but I could not pass about how great London was. London is way more than fish and chips.... it is a phenomenal food paradise...
From fine dining, bakeries, Indian food, the traditional fish and chips, beers, bars, food markets and so much more...

High tea at The Savoy in London is truly an experience in elegance. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere feels timeless—live piano, beautiful decor, and impeccable service that makes you slow down and enjoy every moment. The presentation is stunning, and everything feels thoughtfully curated.
That said, the price is definitely hard to justify. While the experience is luxurious and memorable, it leans more toward paying for the ambiance and prestige than the food itself.
Overall, if you’re looking to treat yourself to a classic London experience in a refined setting, it’s worth doing at least once but remember that at the end of the day is tea, sandwiches and beautiful sweets.
