a month agoYes this is terrifying but PLEASE don't fall for blaming the people who are acting exactly as they have been socialized to because some power ful, rich, mentally ill people made this plan and executed it. This is on purpose. It's absolutely horrifying but we have to go after the actual problem people and their despicable behaviors, not just tell people to "pick up a book." WE read in school and at home and our critical thinking skills and ability to hold those few accountable are EXACTLY why they're doing this. Let's use it!!!!
a month agoMy kids and I read daily. It’s been our routine since my oldest was 4 and I’m so grateful I started that. It’s been one of the best parenting things I’ve ever done. I ask my daughter’s middle school friends what they read in school and ALL of them say NOTHING. They don’t even go to the library in school anymore. When I was in school, we read all the time, both individually and as a class. I loved doing class reads together! What’s happening now is so tragic! 😭
