MOVE! GOD IS NO LONGER THERE.

As a believer, one of the greatest tragedies that can ever happen to you is staying where God is no longer leading you.

I used to be a firm believer in holding on to things because, to me, everything we have is a gift. What I didn’t have was the discernment to know that I had outgrown some of those gifts.

It went on for so long that even when friendships and relationships no longer served the woman God was training me to become, I fought to keep them. I carried the weight of people and situations because I convinced myself they were tests. Little did I know God was trying to lead me out of those seasons.

I’m still learning, but one thing I’ve come to understand is that seasons are not always situations. Most times, seasons are people. They change. They evolve. Sometimes they’ve completed their assignment in your life, and sometimes you’ve completed yours in theirs.

Yesterday, during a strategic training, one amazing woman, THE MAAME GAISEY, said something that has stayed with me: “Sometimes your most loyal employee is your highest risk.” It made me reflect on how the places God has outgrown you from often feel the most comfortable. More often than not, those places are found in people.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m not talking about the peace that comes with the people God has blessed you with. I’m talking about the seasons where the conversations no longer sharpen you, where the company you keep no longer aligns with where God is taking you, yet you stay because it’s familiar.

Familiarity is not always confirmation.

Comfort is not always God’s will.

And history is not always a reason to stay.

If there’s anything you should pray for, pray for discernment. Pray that you’ll know when a season has ended, when a person has completed their assignment, and when God is calling you into something new.

Don’t miss your next season because you’re still holding on to the last one. @themaamegaisey thank you ☺️❤️
