Today marks one year since I led my first walk with @yapoutyonder

A passion for whimsy, a desire for connection, and an urge to remember life doesn’t always have to feel serious or fast or heavy. At least not on Sunday mornings.

Since I lost my mom, I’ve seen about one thousand versions of myself form and shed and change and die and evolve. But this version of me that blooms in the sun and spots colors and patterns in the earth and smiles like she’s five years old, I like her.

I started Yap Out Yonder as a reminder community and joy do not have to be hard to find, and it doesn’t have to be expensive. All it takes is showing up, unclenching your jaw, yapping with strangers turned friends, and seeing what you find.
