to walk into a room & everyone embraces you is a different feeling. to get around people you never met and feel like family is indescribable. it’s amazing how people you don’t know can relate to everything you say in their own way. to be fully heard, fully understood, to resonate with a room that you’ve never stepped in. i was deeply touched, i almost teared up a couple times listening to some of these ladies. to be such a girls girl i wanted to love on these women. i was going through some shit but i’m built to endure and not so much to disclose. nobody knew what was festering in me up until this day. i was struggling a little bit with my emotional well being before this day and these women really helped me to stand up & stand firm. first impressions are EVERYTHING because you only get one and the impressions are ever lasting on me! Ms. Yvette thank you for the prayers, thank you for understanding the burden i carry from work & my mental health! i’m always praying for myself so to have someone else give that to me meant everything! i haven’t had someone do that since i was 20! i’ve seen the most beautiful and rare souls talk about their pain and how it’s affected them and all i can do is sit there and wonder how anyone can hurt these girls meanwhile im one of them 🤣 people don’t care about who you are as a person. no matter how you show up, how consistent, loving, caring and genuine you are. they will still backburner you, still not choose you, still find reasons to make you feel or seem not good enough. still find ways to put you last meanwhile you uplift them and put them first. that talk was a hard one to digest but YOU have to show up for YOU. YOU have to love on yourself, show up for yourself, date yourself, look good for YOURSELF! the validation is just a bonus, not the end all be all. thanks again for the invite, thanks for always considering me, always including me, never forgetting about me, for listening, for us always seeing eye to eye, for impacting my life in a way that has always stayed with me !! love you ALWAYS @obey_ladykay
