Bamburgh Research Project

Vega is weighing bulk #finds that have been washed, dried, and sorted by material. Even though these are not as obviously special and rare as small finds, accurately recording this material can help us draw stronger conclusions about the activity in those context areas. We have over 3 metric tonnes of material just from the later #medieval in Trench 3, and that helped us understand a few centuries of site use. This medieval material from Trench 5, where we are digging now, will provide lots of data for us to work through in the future.
