It was a pleasure working with the team and family behind Ms. Kay Laundry. We loved the story behind their business, keeping a family legacy alive through creativity and dedication.

They came to us to design an identity that speaks to their customers on a personal level, without explicitly saying so, while also representing who they are as a family and who Ms. Kay is to the people who know her.

We presented two concepts aligned with their vision, and one wildcard, something outside the brief, designed to challenge our own tunnel vision and open up new creative directions for the brand. Fun enough, they chose the wildcard!

The identity is built around the idea of the classic quirky Asian family owned shop. An Asian signage inspired illustration brings the inner heritage of the brand’s family to life.

The symbol draws from Korean style signage. Looking ahead, we hope to explore Filipino and regional dialect versions of the wordmark, creating wider possibilities to expand across different cities in the Philippines. And of course, highlighting the subtle blush detail throughout. We can’t wait to see the actual brick and mortar!
