I know there are many complicated layers when it comes to our Khmer Krom people and history, but at the end of the day, I’m proud to see our Khmer Krom roots and culture celebrated in mainstream Vietnamese music/Vietnam❤️

@wattana.uk Some of you are lacking of wisdom, PMC aka Phuong My Chi is showcasing the Khmer krom culture inside Vietnam; it has 54 recognised ethnic groups inside the country. The MV is of Disney quality/story. There’s no need for Vietnam to appropriate any culture. Vietnam is culture and culturally CONFIDENT (Vietnameses are strongly and positively recognised globally for their resilience, vibrant culinary exports, their focus on education and family oriented reputation and more; it had won many wars. Clearly the 2 cultures have distinct differences; simply look at their national costumes. Thanks to PMC, she and her équipe/team were very diligent at researching on the Khmer krom culture inside Vietnam, they’ve consulted the Khmer krom of VN to guide them in the making of the MV. The Khmer people should be grateful for PCM (one of Vietnam's most popular and influential Gen Z artists) for promoting Khmer krom culture and brought it into the mainstream in VN and South East Asia! Can Khmer come up with such a quality MV with this much views? By the way there’s only ONE phrase in Khmer in the entire song the rest is all in Vietnamese! Clearly no such culture appropriation here. “Just sayin” 🤪

I celebrate any culture. Any real culture on the standard of culture. And this world really needs culture. Like the culture is more beautiful than the Cambodian people being in awe of it. Being in America i still don’t know other people’s psychology. Is it bland? Thats a house, thats a car, thats a fire. Thats friendship. This objective labeling is not cultural. America will have no culture without ethics. We for one show civilization, we show ethics, it’s not about how far we can bend our fingers. Im not arguing Im just saying it’s not just about us. We are apart of humanity. Humans got to not be zombies, yet have purpose and have some soul seeking. Our culture slams the ethic facts to the world. Not on pride but ethics. The love shown is real for awareness and the education of our neighbors, our haters, and people got to advance their own cultural freedom.
